A day at Leo Burnett Manila

Big Ideas Come out of Big Pencils.

09 29 11. Leo Burnett Manila. Interview. Corpo :D

I, together with Rendell and Ate Nikki went to Makati for an interview regarding our internship. And Leo Burnett is the place to be! Leo Burnett is one of the top advertising and marketing agency in the country and in the world.

I am guilty of being late. Haha! The three of us decided to meet up at 10am, but I arrived by 12. Luckily, we’re able to reach our destination hassle-free. We reached Leo Burnett 15minutes before the scheduled interview. Whew!

I got amazed when I saw the Leo Burnett office. Very pro, very classy, very nice. Hahaha! We honestly wanted to have pictures there, but professionalism takes place, I guess. :D Before the interview, first we had an exam. Parang UPCAT! :D Then, we had an interview afterwards.
It’s a good experience for me. I personally hope that they’ll accept me as intern. I know I can improve my knowledge and skills. I am excited to work with them. I’m excited on the experience that I will obtain, and the experience that they will impart on me. I wanted to experience how it works in an advertising company like them.

All in all, Leo Burnett is the place to be. It is the place where I see myself working a month from now. Excited muuuuch! :D

FYI. We spent 3 hours before we’re able to reach Calamba. I don’t want to explain it anymore. Basta, lumampas lang kami, hindi kami naligaw. Minsan sa sobrang tama naming, naging mali. Hahaha! Bawi next time, people! :D

Rendell's Birthday

Pag may ganap, alam na! :D Last September 22, 2011, Rendell celebrated his 20th birthday. His birthday was actually on the 23rd, but his family decided to celebrate it on the 22nd.

Rendell's crib is actually one of the best place to visit whenever you have projects to do (aside from Lhiez', Sarah's and Joysie's place). First is because of the wifi services. Hahaha! Second is the good ambiance and the third is the overflowing foods :D

Here are some of the pictures during Roc's birthday celebration:

Ligo na U, Lapit na Me :)

Narito ang pelikulang may asim ng romansa, pait ng pagkabigo at tamis ng ligaya, alat ng pamumuna, at anghang ng kaastigan. Handa ka na ba?

09 14 2011. Wednesday. Trio.
Just this afternoon, I together with my Nona and Rochelle went to Los Banos, Laguna to watch Ligo na U, Lapit na Me- one of the entries to the 7th Cinemalaya Independence Film Festival 2011. Cinemalaya invades UPLB, so why not grab the chance to experience the Cinemalaya fever! I thought we were not able to watch the movie because we were not able to reserve for our tickets. Luckily, ticket booth are still available before the screening. So there.

The movie is full of romance scenes which I think not suitable for children audience. :) But the movie was made with art and passion. BTW, the movie was based on a movie with the same title by Eros A. Atalia. Edgar Allan Guzman and Mercedes Cabral were the main characters. It is about the modern love and how generations of today deal with relationships and commitments. All in all, the movie was great with a bitin ending. Urgh! Bitin naman talaga e!

I won't tell the entire story, since Ligo na U, Lapit na Me will be shown in selected theaters nationwide by the end of September 2011.

Aside from watching the movie, we also got the chance to meet some of the people behind the movie, I just forgot their names. Hahaha!

My day ended well. Thanks to Cinemalaya who saved my day. That was my prize for being so busy this past few days. Hurray to Cinemalaya. I look forward to watch more independent movies soon.

Passed. Conditional. Failed

Thankful.
c/o ate nikki. taken after the defense. :)

I’ve always been thankful for all the blessings that God has given me. Though, sometimes, I lose faith in him, he still gives more blessings and most of the time, much more than that.

Last Saturday, 09 10 11, was our Thesis Final Defense. My classmates and I, and even our parents and friends, were all nervous of what would be the outcome of our hardships. It was 8am when the defense started.

Thesis final defense is a big deal. It’s a do or die. All groups have given their best effort for their research. We all spent sleepless nights just to finish and meet the deadlines. We all spent even our single centavo just to print and photocopy all the manuscripts needed. We all spent so much of our time for our own study. We all spent tears when we feel tired and restless.

Jamie and I were the fourth to present. Jamie was emotional on that day, so I really have no choice but to stay relaxed and keep our control. And there, after we present our research, the panelists then asked questions. Honestly speaking, we got drained because of the questions they raised. While answering questions one by one, I have this feeling that we might fail. When we got outside the room while waiting for the final verdict, I couldn’t help my emotions and cry because I already lose hope. When we got inside again, I feel so happy that we PASSED. We just have to complete some things that they want us to fix.  It was just funny that I cried because I misunderstood the result. Hahaha! Our adviser asked me, “o anong iniiyak?”, and I said, “ ano po ba kami? Mali po ba kami?” and she said, together with the panelists, “No. may ilalagay lang kayo tapos i-pacheck at ayos na.” Then I feel relieved. Hay. They commend us for having a good research despite the fact that we’re just two. I feel proud of our team. I am thankful that I have Jamie as my thesis buddy. Lord, thank you.

Though we still have revisions and other groups have to defend it again, still, I am very thankful for we all made it. We made it because we pray. We made it because we are supported by those people who love us. The experience we had made me feel loved. I am very thankful to have those people who love our batch very much. From our parents, up to our friends, batchmates, school mates, CAS family, CAS ates and kuyas, CAS babies, professors and even the security guards who wish us luck on that day. Who wouldn’t be happy if you’re surrounded with those loving and supportive people? Who wouldn’t feel blessed? :D

Our thesis is like our own baby. We spent almost a year to finish it. And I’m excited to see it printed and binded. Yee! I know time will come that we will all miss doing our thesis. It became a habit for us. It became part of lives for almost a year. But for now, I think we all deserve to have a rest. We deserve to have a break and breathe for a while. We all deserve to smile :D

Thesis it! :D
