LPU-L Founder’s Lecture

February 19, 2013 | LPU-L | First time

Just last week, I attended my first ever speaking engagement in my Alma Mater, Lyceum, with the theme: Teroy: His Life & his Legacies. Aside from me, Kuya JP Seño is also invited to become a speaker.

When Sarah invited me to become a speaker, I asked myself. Why me? Am I credible enough to become a speaker? Questions like those popped in my mind. But when she said the topic that I’ll be sharing, there comes my excitement. Excitement to share what have I learned in my four years of stay in Lyceum. Excitement to share how I have changed since Lyceum has become my second home. And that, I said Yes right away. At ayun na nga!

I actually have a guide to make my speech less nerve-wracking .I printed it out so that I can read it in case I run out of ideas. But with all the tension and pressure, I forgot, or I guess didn’t care on my printed guide. Instead, I did the talk, the impromptu way! Kaloka! The good thing in my “impromptu” experience, everything seems to be natural. I speak for my heart and with all my heart. The disadvantage, I can hear myself saying “uhms” every time there is a dull moment. I am sorry Ms. Cel, I promise to limit my “uhms” next time. Hahaha!

The experience is so greeeeeat! The tension, my shaky voice, the pasmadong kamay sa kaba is so worth it. Only Lyceum can give me this feeling. Hahaha! Thank you! Thank you for the superb experience!

BTW, sharing you are some of my “solo” / pa “vain” photos this morning.

UP UP and AWAAAAAAY!

Exactly the same month last year, I made a promise to myself to attend the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark, Pampanga. I remember, I made this promise with my friends.

So I made up all the research and plans just to achieve my so so promise. And so Faith (who filed a leave), Nona, Krizia, Alexa and I reserved Feb. 22-23 for our Hot Air Balloon Festival experience. Everything is just so planned and well prepared. Until this Typhoon Crising sh*t came into the picture. Everything's ruined. I hate it so much. The rainfall gets heavier and heavier. In an event like the Hot Air Balloon Festival, rain is a very much destruction! Of all the dates, WHY NOW CRISING? WHY NOW?!

I know I'm over reacting on this, but this is just so frustrating. :|

My clothes are packed already, cameras are well-charged, and my mind is so set for this trip. Then just like the rain, all the plans fall. And just like the clouds, I wanted to cryyyyy! This is so F-R-U-S-T-R-A-T-I-N-G!

And to end my "just like" phrases, my excitement turns our just like a hot air balloon, it goes up up and awaaaay! Gone na.

CAS Pep Squad: Winners at Heart

February 15, 2013 | LPU-L University Week

Here comes February, aside from Valentine’s Day, one event that students always look forward is the University week / Foundation week celebration. And on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, LPU-L started the foundation celebration with the theme: Accelerating Academic and Professional Excellence. LPU-L is now 12 years old! Getting older! Getting better!

Though I’m part of the alumni already, still I feel the excitement brought by this year’s foundation celebration. In fact, I file a 1-day leave in the office just to witness the highlight of the celebration – and that’s the yearly Cheerdance Competition.

Thursday night, right after work, I went to Lyceum to spend the night with the CAS Pep and some alumni. Our ate’s and kuya’s from previous batches and also from our batch joined together to help the CAS Pep in their routine. From the polishing of steps and stunts up to the projection and auras. That’s how we love the group that knowing that we’ve all been there. And supporting this new batch is also a way of giving back to our CAS Fam. Aside from supporting the pep, this also unites the CAS from different batches. Parang laging may reunion! Dadaldal! Bibong-bibo! I can’t help but to laugh in every story that they share. Reminiscing college moments is the best!

After 2 years, we’re back in the top 3 and that’s what made all of us winners. We’re winners at heart! We’re all winners by the number of people who loved the performance. Congratulations, CAS Pep!!!! I am a proud ate! I am a proud (former) CAS Pep member! I am proud to be in CAS!

A Valentine Note

Fabruary 14, 2012 | Valentine's Day

Some of the people today are wearing red, for it’s the color that symbolizes love. Some will leave the office or school early because they have a date. Some will be out having a last minute shopping for their Valentine present. Some singles out there are still hoping that their crushes will asked them out. Some will make this day extra sweeter by finally saying “yes” to their suitors or it can be the other way, that some will hope that this day he’ll finally hear the word “yes”. People come in pair. No wonder, today’s Valentine’s Day! A lot of things may happen today. While some have some, others might not fit themselves in any of the scenarios mentioned. Hahaha! For the benefit of everybody, I belong to the “others”. Yes, I belong! So nothing to be sad my dear! CAS Pep will be my Valentine datessss. No, don’t get it wrong, my heart’s still okay.

I’m sharing you this video that may add sweetness into our lives. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Love,
Justine
