It has been a week since this summer batch outing happened. I still have the Cagbalete hangover in me. And I assume that all Cagbaletians (well, not sure if that word really do exist) still have this “take-me-back-to-Cagbalete” feeling. Umamin ka? Mina!
April 13-14,
2013
Meet the
Cagbaletians: Jerome, Nona, Kreng, Vina, Cathy, Sarah, Ago, Joey and yours
truly. We’ve decided to spend Friday night at Maligaya’s residence. Some of us
really didn’t sleep at all and some didn’t even take a bath, pero kiber lang!
The working girls. Ago, wag kang magpanggap na pagod ka at rest day ka na nyan!
We had our
breakfast at Lucena Grand Termina. After re-charging ourselves, we headed to
Mauban, Quezon where the port going to Cagbalete Island is located. Long
hoursssss of bus ride, again! So sleeping time for Cagbaletians. Upon arrival
at Mauban, the pinaka-masisipag at pinaka-magaling sa budget naming friends
went to market to buy our food and other essentials.
This is us,
at the banca. Some are excited and some are nervous. Nervous because the banca
seems to be overloaded with passengers, their luggages, and oh, cabinets! Yes,
cabinets! Not just one, but 2 cabinets! Whew!
After 45
minutes, we reached the most anticipated Cagbalete Island! We take a 30-minute
trekking all the way to Cleofas Resort. The trekking part is what I really
didn’t like about this trip. Nevertheless, after the tiring trekking, a
breathtaking view welcomes us.
We nestled
at one of the huts in Cleofas and make it our home sweet home in Cagbalete.
After
lunch, we rest for a while, some took a bath and sleep while some make the most
of the siesta time to make some muni-muni in the beach. Then after some time,
we prepare ourselves to explore the beach! Btw, what I mean by exploring the
beach is to wear our swimming attire, have our kilays done (thanks Vyna), put
sunblock and have pictorial at the beach! Pinaghandaan po namin ang pictorial
na ito!
Kuya Algef
also comes with us. He’s originally with his officemates.
Dinner time.
Because we’re so tamad, ayan, kami ang na-assign na magluto for dinner.
Kailangan fierce pag magluluto, para fierce din ang food!
It seems
like all of us are tired and restless, we all sleep at around 9-10pm giving us
8 hours of complete sleep. Panalo! Ago was planning to leave early in the
morning, for she still have to go to work by 8pm. But with everybody’s
convincing charm, she chooses to stay.
It feels so
refreshing to see sunrise at the beach. I was like, “Lord, ang sarap mabuhay.
Thank you po!” The place is really a paradise in my eyes. Not to exaggerate but
really, this is really a paradise!
After
breakfast, we’ve decided to rent a banca that will take us to the other side of
the island where the super white beach is at.
Okay, some
of the photos are taken by our dadskys (Dadsky is our kuya banker na solid sa
bait)
The last
trip of the banca that will take us back to Mauban leaves at 12noon, so as much
we’d like to stay in the water forever, we pack our things and left Cleofas
with happy faces and full beams!
The things
that I learn:
- 1. God blesses all of us
- 2. That there’s more to discover here in the Philippines
- 3. That Cagbalete Island is a paradise
- 4. Cagbalete with friends is life changing
To end this,
I would like to thank my fellow Cagbaletians for this wonderful and memorable
experience. This trip would not be as happy and as blissful without you guys.
(Emo moments) Thank you!
Lord, thank
you for blessing me with a positive outlook towards your creations. Thank you
for giving me my friends whom I consider as my family. Thank you! Thank you!
Summer is
not yet over! So go out, make this summer the best summer of your life!
